A day after being tied to the conservative "Blexit" movement, Kanye West said he's done with politics. That comes after months of problematic statements about slavery and a literal embrace of President Donald Trump.

On Tuesday, West tweeted, "My eyes are now wide open and now realize I've been used to spread messages I don't believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative!"

West's association with Trump has drawn heckling and criticism for months. But it was an unwanted association with the controversial "Blexit" movement that did West in.

It was black conservative Candace Owens, who pulled West in during a Fox News segment yesterday by suggesting West offer design tips on "Blexit" wear.

Owens added that "Blexit" stands for the black exit from the Democratic Party.

But West said he wants nothing to do with the movement.

"I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn't want their name on it so she used mine," West tweeted. "I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it."

Whether this leads to a complete break from the pro-Trump movement remains to be seen. Kanya in the past adamantly defended his right to be a "free thinker." Of course, that era of West also included assertions that slavery "sounds like a choice."
