Hold on to your wigs!
RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race -- the latest entry in the Drag Race multiverse -- is coming to VH1 this month.
In the four-episode event series, "a trio of celebrities open up their heart and mind to the transformative power of drag, embracing the inner fierce queen inside of them," stated a release from the network.
"They all step onto the runway feeling beautiful, powerful and inspired in their own way, realizing that drag doesn't change who they are, but reveals who they are."
These public figures will vie for the title of "America's Next Celebrity Drag Superstar" with the help of "Queen Supremes," RuPaul's Drag Race alumni Alyssa Edwards, Asia O'Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Monet X Change, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck, Trixie Mattel, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.
"We put these celebrities through it! Because no matter how famous your charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent is, you still put your pantyhose on one leg at a time," said RuPaul.
RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race is the latest spin-off of the Emmy-winning drag competition first launched in 2009 from the World of Wonder production company. Others include RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars, the newly launched RuPaul's Drag Race UK, and the upcoming Drag Race Canada.
Celebrity Drag Race also calls to mind the short-lived RuPaul's Drag U, in which Drag Racers gave makeovers to (nonfamous) female contestants. The reality show ran for three seasons from 2010 to 2013.
