D'Lo is breaking new ground in LGBT representation.
The transmasculine performer has appeared in Netflix's Sense 8, Amazon's Transparent, and HBO's Looking as well as films like Bruising for Besos, The Legend of My Heart Shaped Anus, and Lock Her Room.
But a new web series, Private Dick, cocreated with Mark Alton Brown (Designing Women), puts a story inspired by D'Lo's identity as a queer Sri Lankan-Tamil-American front and center.
