Rachel Maddow: Uganda Be Kidding Me
This week Rachel Maddow has tackled the proposed antigay Ugandan bill that would call for the death of gays and lesbians in many scenarios if passed. In three segments titled "Uganda Be Kidding Me," she details the bill's hateful rhetoric and exposes three Americans credited with inspiring the bill.

The point is not to make these men look stupid on television, the point the majority of commenters seem to miss is that these politicians, whether implicitly or explicitly supporting this legislation, have influenced it's creation. And most importantly, they've done it on OUR dime. Our tax dollars paid for those trips to Uganda, we paid their attendance to these bigoted "conferences". Whether they penned the legislation or not, they were a part of its formation. Were they to do that on their own time, the fact that publicly elected representatives were engaged in this activity would be bad enough. But the horror is that we, the American taxpayer, have paid for their participation. Can't you put your own Bush- or Obama-hating aside and realize this is wrong? Separation of church and state is perhaps the most compelling and liberating ideal of the American concept put forth by the forefathers of this country. We should all respect, cherish, and defend it. No Ugandan has that luxury.
Sorry but people get real. President obama shouldnt even be brought up in this issue. He has better things to worry about. Also Rachel shouldnt make people look stupid on national television. Thats just not right. Who gives you the right to downgrade someone and say that their the reason for deaths in uganda. There are too many people in the world that contribute to the deaths of gays in uganda. You just cant say one person changes the mindset of these people. What you can say is that they help. There are so many people in the world with different opinions that every man cant be pleased.

GayElephant is nothing more than an obedient slave to the right wing, nothing anyone says will change that. Just ignore him and don't waste your time or energy on him.
Gay Elephant is just another politician conveniently picking the facts that serve his political desires while ignoring relavent facts that may counter his arguments. A political party that has a mixed record on gay rights is not the same as a political party that actively uses hatred of gays to get elected, contrary to what Gay Elephant is trying so desperately to get you to believe. I admit that I'll be hesitant to vote for democrats come 2010 and 2012, but the idea that that means I will be voting republican is laughable. I have a hunch that many other gays (the true silent majority) feel the same way.
EC: you are wrong, plain and simple. And you are an insult to those gay Muslims who have been killed by these Islamo-fascists M: why don't you start acting like an adult. You're just a drone. And get out of this board you big dope, and let the adults talk.
Gay Elephant: Before making claims of an "Islamofacist" influence in the Ugandan bill, you may want to read some demographic info (or at least do a wikipedia search). Uganda is overwhelming Christian. 85% in fact.
You're pathetic GayElephant. Its sad you actually believe the garbage that you post and like others who post on this site I doubt that you are even gay to begin with. Why don't you pull your head out of Glenn Becks crotch, grow up and get a therapist?
Also where is Obama (an Islam sympathizer) on this? No where. In fact, since most of you praise the liberal left for being sympathetic to our cause, think again. Obama doesn't give a damn about gays, even gays who are being killed in Iran: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2009/10/06/us_cutoff_of_funding_to_iran_human_rights_cause_signals_shift/ How about this leftist freak that supports Obama and *THIS BILL* who said "“God don’t like men coming to men with lust in their hearts like you should go to a female. If you think that the kingdom of God is going to be filled up with that kind of degenerate crap, you’re out of your damn mind.”- None other than Louis Farrakhan. Or how about this one "I believe that marriage is a union between a man and a woman" Since Rachel Madcow is doing some second guessing and blaming Christians instead of Islamo-Fascists in the Uganda Parliament, I would also guess that Obama's statement on marriage above also motivated this bill.
The City Journal: "More and more Western Europeans, recognizing the threat to their safety and way of life, have turned their backs on the establishment, which has done little or nothing to address these problems, and begun voting for parties–”some relatively new, and all considered right-wing–”that have dared to speak up about them. One measure of the dimensions of this shift: owing to the rise in gay-bashings by Muslim youths, Dutch gays–who ten years ago constituted a reliable left-wing voting bloc–now support conservative parties by a nearly two-to-one margin." Face it you just hate the fact that more gays are turning to the right here and especially in Europe. You liberals keep hiding the fact that most gay-bashings are made by minorities that have always been sheltered by the DNC. Where were you people when the chief of the UN assembly (a liberal) said that "being gay was an unacceptable" and is in favor of the Uganda bill. * Islamo-fascist UN was behind this horrible bill*
