Dozens of students turned out Friday to protest the resignation of Christine Judd, the lesbian dean and athletic director of Cathedral High School in Massachusetts, who said she was forced to step down after she married her partner.

Watch video below of the protest from 22News WWLP.

The Springfield Diocese maintains that Judd, as an administrator, broke her agreement to uphold the doctrine and teachings of the Catholic Church.

According to WWLP, Judd has not announced whether she will take legal action.

Isn't your "everyday" Catholic usually pretty liberal and progressive? This just baffles me, really.. The Catholic Churches higharchy is extremely out of touch with most of it's followers. Not only that, but the Church will lie for hide and "move around" pedophile priests in order to protect them and perserve their positions of power. But, God forbid that a lesbian Catholic marry the love of her life. It's utterly hypocritical! Pope Ratzinger needs to spend the rest of his ministry investegating and prosecuting preists that do irepperable harm to little children, and leave the LGBT community alone. I for one am tired of the gay community being the scapegoat of America. Our community is used by religious and political figures alike to divert attention from real harms the plague and grieve society.. it needs to stop..

This is the problem with exempting "religious" organizations from certain laws. The Catholic pedophile protecter church should be stripped of its tax exempt status since it is a political organation, and this woman should sue them for millions of dollars. Hopefully the picketing will turn into rioting against this hatemonger so called religion.

Regular Catholics don't uphold the doctrine and teachings of the Catholic Church. They should throw those people out too. Oh, wait; then there would be no Catholic Church would there...
