Before Night Falls nominated for two ALMA awards

Variety reports that the film Before Night Falls, the screen biography of gay Cuban poet Reinaldo Arenas (played by Oscar nominee Javier Bardem), which featured Johnny Depp as a transvestite inmate in a Cuban prison, has been nominated in two categories for an American Latino Media Award. The film has been nominated as both Outstanding Feature Film and Outstanding Latino Cast in a Feature Film. The awards show is set to air the night of Friday, June 1. Check local listings.
