The [London] Sunday Times reports that
Nancy Heche is rallying allies for a lawsuit over her
daughter Anne Heche's new memoir, Call Me
Crazy--and that one witness against the author may be
Ellen DeGeneres. Nancy Heche disputes many of the
book's claims--including Anne's statements that her
father repeatedly sexually abused her while her mother
did nothing and that her mother indoctrinated her daughters
in a form of anti-Semitic fundamentalism--and is,
along with Anne's sisters, Susan and Abigail, seeking
legal advice on how to persuade publisher Simon and
Schuster to delete the passages before the book's
publication in the United Kingdom next month. Sources
say Nancy Heche could summon DeGeneres, Anne Heche's
ex-partner, as a witness.
