Variety reports that Showtime is preparing a two-hour pilot for a new series, Earthlings, that will revolve around a group of lesbian friends in Los Angeles, one of whom has moved to the West Coast to get married but instead gets seduced by a female acquaintance. Ilene Chaiken (writer of the Showtime movies Dirty Pictures and Damaged Care) created the series, which she will executive-produce with Steve Golin and Larry Kennar of Anonymous Content. The network has sent the script out to directors and will begin casting soon.
