Showtime orders up episodes of Earthlings and Dead Like Me

Variety reports that the Showtime cable network has given season orders for Earthlings and Dead Like Me. Earthlings is a lesbian ensemble drama from lesbian writer-producer Ilene Chaiken (Dirty Pictures) about a group of lesbian friends in Los Angeles (the cast includes Jennifer Beals, Pam Grier, and Laurel Holloman), while Dead Like Me, created by out writer-producer Bryan Fuller (NBC's Carrie), follows the postmortem adventures of a teenage girl. The number of episodes for each show, as well as a premiere date for each, has not yet been determined.
