Fimmakers use
MySpace for AIDS fund-raiser

To increase awareness of the upcoming Thom Fitzgerald film 3 Needles and to raise money to combat AIDS, filmmakers have pledged to donate money for every "friend" who signs on to a special MySpace page. The film will be released on December 1, World AIDS Day, and it chronicles the international current state of the epidemic. The film, which depicts three intimate, different stories of people dealing with AIDS, stars Lucy Liu, Chloe Sevigny, Stockard Channing, Olympia Dukakis, Sandra Oh, and Shawn Ashmore.

The film's creators will donate 10 cents for each friend listed on the site by December 1. That money will go to the Nova Scotia-Gambia Association, a local charity supported by Halifax resident Fitzgerald. In a press release, the director said the film has already raised more than $50,000.

The film's MySpace profile site is www.myspace.com/3Needles.
