Raf Van Puymbroeck was crowned at the 10th annual pageant of male beauty.
After a neck-and-neck race, 21-year-old Belgian dance coach Raf Van Puymbroeck took home the title of Mr. Gay Europe Friday. The competition, which took place in the Norwegian village of Oppdal, lasted an entire week and ran the gamut of challenges: endurance tests, interviews, written exams about LGBT history, and tests of social media skills. The final decision was provided by the public via online vote. As a physical educator and dance coach, Puymbroek highlighted the need for LGBT inclusion in sports, a subject especially relevant during the Olympic Games.
