The fall movies season is upon us, which means there will be a spate of films vying for accolades and awards. Some of these films feature queer stories, including Battle of the Sexes, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, and the excellent documentary about singer Chavela Vargas. From movies that more than pass the Bechdel test to female-directed films, here are 16 that put women front and center.
