Broadway's Into the Woods revival to close

Variety reports that the Broadway revival of out composer Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods will close December 29 at the Broadhurst Theater after 18 previews and 279 regular performances. Vanessa Williams, who stars as the Witch, is leaving the show December 22, and producers were unable to find a replacement. A stage musical version of Urban Cowboy will be the theater's next engagement.
