Two British imports make their U.S. television debuts this weekend. "White Box," a new Absolutely Fabulous special, premieres Friday, April 1, at 10 p.m. Eastern/Pacific on the Oxygen network. As Saffy (Julia Sawalha) flies off to Africa to marry the father of her infant daughter, Edina (Jennifer Saunders) attempts to once again redesign the kitchen, seeking help from a motley crew of associates, including half-crazed designer Bettina (Miranda Richardson), German minimalist decorator Kunz (Nathan Lane), and even a past-life regression therapist (Laurie Metcalf.) On Sunday, April 3, at 10 p.m. Eastern/Pacific, BBC America presents the U.S. premiere of the outrageously funny drama Shameless, about the staggeringly dysfunctional Gallagher family. Mom's gone, dad's drunk, and the kids are forced to fend for themselves. Perhaps the sanest of the bunch is teenage Ian (Gerard Kearns), whose private life hides more than a few secrets.
