Fifteen films
will be considered for Oscar nominations in the Best
Documentary Feature category, the Academy of Motion Picture
Arts and Sciences announced Tuesday. The documentary
screening committee culled the selections after
reviewing the category's 82 eligible films. The
selected films: After Innocence, The Boys of
Baraka, Darwin's Nightmare, The Devil and Daniel
Johnston, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room,
Favela Rising, Mad Hot Ballroom, March of the
Penguins, Murderball, Occupation: Dreamland, On Native
Soil, Rize, Street Fight, 39 Pounds of Love,
and Unknown White Male.
Nominees in the
documentary category and 24 other categories will be
announced January 31. The 78th Academy Awards will be
presented at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on March
