Jill Scott to record song from The Color Purple

Angel Records announced Wednesday that Patti LaBelle and Jill Scott will record a version of "What About Love?" from the score of the forthcoming Broadway musical The Color Purple. After the single is released in January, the song will appear as a bonus track on the Color Purple cast album, which streets January 24. Featuring a score by Brenda Russell, out songwriter Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray, The Color Purple opens on Broadway December 1. (Advocate.com)
