Wellspring Media has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the latest film from gay French filmmaker Patrice Chereau (Son Frere), reports indieWIRE.com. Gabrielle stars Isabelle Huppert and Pascal Greggory and is an adaptation of Joseph Conrad's short story "The Return." Cowritten by Chereau and Anne-Louise Trividic, the film explores the marital breakdown of a middle-class couple. Gabrielle is set for release in the spring of 2006. (Advocate.com)
