A Very Serious Person, cowritten and directed
by playwright and performer Charles Busch, will premiere at
the fifth annual Tribeca Film Festival, which runs
April 25 to May 7. Busch's debut as a director, the
film tells the story of a young boy obsessed with show
tunes and Old Hollywood, and it also explores his
relationship with his effete Swedish mentor. The
festival will also feature several documentaries of
queer interest, including Follow My Voice: The
Music of Hedwig, about the recording of a benefit
tribute album featuring music from Hedwig and the
Angry Inch, starring Sleater-Kinney and Rufus
Wainwright; Jack Smith and the Destruction of
Atlantis, about the legendary gay performance
artist; and Saint of 9/11, a tribute to New
York Fire Department chaplain Father Mychal Judge, a
gay priest who died at Ground Zero. (The
