The Producers Guild of America announced the nominees Wednesday for its annual awards handout, with an Oscars-worthy list of films leading the way. The Producers Guild Awards, which recognize outstanding work in film and television, will be doled out on January 20.
Best theatrical picture: Babel, The Departed, Dreamgirls, Little Miss Sunshine, The Queen
Animated theatrical motion pictures: Cars, Flushed Away, Happy Feet, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Monster House
Long-form television: Bleak House, Elizabeth I, Flight 93, High School Musical, Mrs. Harris
Nonfiction television: The Amazing Race 9, American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, Project Runway, 60 Minutes
Episodic television, comedy: Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, My Name Is Earl, The Office, Weeds
Episodic television, drama: Grey's Anatomy, House, Lost, The Sopranos, 24
Variety television: The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, The Late Show With David Letterman, Real Time With Bill Maher, The XX Olympic Games: Opening Ceremony
The guild previously announced it is honoring Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher, the production team behind Memoirs of a Geisha and Jarhead; Jerry Bruckheimer, whose TV credits include Without a Trace, The Amazing Race, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation; veteran awards show producer Ken Ehrlich; video game pioneer Will Wright; and writer-producer Ron Meyer. Al Gore's environmental documentary An Inconvenient Truth will also be cited. (AP)
