Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the producing duo behind the film musicals Chicago and this summer's Hairspray, are attached to a Sammy Davis Jr. biopic. According to Playbill.com, the pair will use Davis's autobiographies Yes I Can and Why Me? New Line Cinema is finalizing negotiations with the Davis estate.
The former Rat Packer died in 1990 at the age of 64. His singing career included hits such as "The Candy Man" and "I've Gotta Be Me." He also acted in several plays and films. (The Advocate)
