The next generation of Cole Porters will touch down in Massachusetts next week for the Provincetown Gay Male Songwriters Festival.
The gathering, taking place September 21-23 at the Art House Theatre, will feature performances by many of the country's leading queer songwriters. Festival organizer Brian Donnelly will be one of the musicians onstage. "There are more gay male songwriters out there than we realize, and there are lots of music followers who appreciate hearing them," Donnelly said in a release. "The talent is of such a high quality, this event will only continue to grow each year."
Other performers include Tom Wilson Weinberg, Ernie Lijio, Aiden James, Martin Swinger, Gregory Douglass, and Brian King. Proceeds from the event will go to the Gay Men's Domestic Violence Project. For more information go to the Provincetown Gay Male Songwriters Festival Web site. (The Advocate)
