The O.C. star Mischa Barton is switching teams for another upcoming role, according to AZCentral.com. Barton will play a Russian teenager who falls in love with another girl at a t.A.T.u concert in Finding t.A.T.u.

The film is based on a novel, in which the girls become involved in drug abuse and murder after their romance takes off.

The Russian pop duo t.A.T.u became famous in the U.S. more for their implied lesbianism onstage and in music videos than their best-selling 2003 single "All the Things She Said."

Barton's character, Marissa, on Fox's The O.C., was once involved with Alex, played by Olivia Wilde. (The Advocate)
