Sarah Jessica Parker's production company is working to create a new reality competition for artists, similar to Project Runway.
A dozen aspiring artists would compete against each other by creating different types of artwork with photography, painting, sculpting, and industrial design, Variety reported Wednesday. The pieces would be judged by a panel of judges as well as the artists themselves.
Magical Elves, the team behind Bravo's Project Runway, and Top Chef will pair with Parker's company, Pretty Matches. Pitch meetings are scheduled to begin as soon as next week.
"Art is a much more inclusive world than people think," Dan Cutforth of Magical Elves told Variety. "We really feel there's a way to show people how much they care about art in the same way Runway showed people how much they care about clothes. That accessibility is why we think the show can work."
Parker's role in the show is to stay behind the scenes, though she may make an on-camera appearance periodically. During the current season of Project Runway she was a guest judge. (The Advocate)
