Ronnie Margo of Jersey Shore apologized Thursday via Twitter for the antigay rant that has angered millions of Americans.

According to TMZ.com, Ronnie posted the following message on his account.

"I apologize to my fans, In the heat of the moment i said a lot of things i didnt mean and im very sorry."

Footage of the antigay rant was revealed this week. In the leaked clip, Ronnie is seen yelling "f**king f**got" and a "f**king queer" right before he beats a man on the boardwalk.

Gay advocates denounced the rant, as did Italian-American groups, who condemn the ethnic stereotypes portrayed on the hit MTV show.
