Rocker Melissa Etheridge commented on the recent Newsweek article about gay actors playing straight roles, and used the controversy to joke about whether her own songs would be gay enough for Glee.
Etheridge, who just released her eleventh studio album, Fearless Love, spoke with PopEater about her separation from wife Tammy Lynn Michaels and the Newsweek controversy, which she said she hadn't followed. When it was explained to her, Etheridge concluded that it was "sexphobia."
Later asked whether she had ever been approached to have her songs on the hit Fox show Glee, Etheridge replied, "No, I don't think they're gay enough," and laughed.
