Star Trek star Zachary Quinto tweeted in response to rapper 50 Cent, who posted a tweet last week that many people interpreted as antigay and ill-timed, given the recent gay teen suicides.
Last week following news that at least five young gay men had killed themselves after being bullied, 50 Cent seemed to suggest in a tweet that any man who was not sexually interested in women should kill himself immediately. 50 Cent later attempted to clarify the message, but Quinto, a gay rights activist, appeared unmoved by the explanation.
"You know what would truly make the world a better place?" tweeted Quinto at the rapper, according to Towleroad.com, "if people with as much influence and privilege as you spread hope, not hate."
