Actor Tim Curry has passed away.
Following a decade of serious health complications, the Broadway star died Tuesday night at his home in Los Angeles.
After originating the iconic role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show in London and Los Angeles, Curry led the original Broadway cast at the Belasco Theatre. His explosive performance brought a completely new level of punk rock, camp, and sexual fluidity to the traditional Broadway stage.
His legendary theater career earned him 3 Tony Award nominations, a Drama Desk Award nomination, and a permanent place in Broadway history.
Although the famous actor never publicly disclosed his sexual orientation, he consistently stated throughout his life that his romantic relationships were private. While his gender-bending performance as Dr. Frank-N-Furter led many to assume he was gay, he fiercely protected his personal life from public scrutiny.
Curry was 80 years old. RIP.
