Stephen Colbert Crashes Republican Convention, Dubs Them 'Hungry for Power Games'

Colbert adds some levity to the convention, noting the conspicious location of the North Carolina delegation — right next to the bathrooms.

STEPHEN COLBERT

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump enjoys putting on a show, but comedian Stephen Colbert beat him to it when he crashed the stage of Republican National Convention in Cleveland Sunday.

Taking the stage unannounced, holding a stuffed weasel, and wearing a bright blue wig in a tribute to Hunger Games emcee Caesar Flickerman, Colbert remarked, "I know I am not supposed to be up here, but let's be honest, neither is Donald Trump."

Colbert, who is an equal opportunity offender, often taking aim at both parties, was swiftly escorted off the stage during the last day of preparations for the convention, or as he likes to call it, the "Hungry for Power Games," which opened Monday.

Watch Colbert welcome delegates to the convention below, noting that North Carolina's delegation is stationed right next to the bathroom -- so the supporters of the state's infamous anti-LGBT law known as House Bill 2 can check everyone's genitals before letting them relieve themselves.
