LGBT Americans over 50 face higher rates of disability, heart disease, and depression — and many have experienced discrimination, financial instability, or violence. A study by University of Washington, published earlier this year in The Gerontologist, surveyed 2,450 adults (representing the estimated 2.7 million LGBTs over 50 in the U.S.).
