Pennsylvania HIV clinic gets $1 million grant

The Lancaster, Pa., Comprehensive Care Clinic for HIV has received a three-year $1 million grant from the Department of Health and Human Services for the treatment of HIV-positive people in the area, the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal reports. The clinic has served more than 500 patients since it opened in 1999 and currently serves about 300 HIV-positive people. The clinic provides case management, medications, prenatal care, physicians' referrals, and links to other AIDS agencies. Clinic director Jeffrey Kirchner says the new grant will allow the clinic to hire more staff and expand its hours of operation.
