Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich last week released nearly $400,000 in federal funds to provide housing assistance to HIV-positive people in the Chicago area, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The grants will be used by local agencies to repair existing housing projects or to provide rental assistance. Blagojevich released a total of about $500,000 in AIDS housing funds to groups throughout the state.
