Pamela Anderson named spokeswoman for MAC Cosmetics AIDS fund-raiser
The MAC AIDS Fund, the charitable arm of MAC Cosmetics, will officially name actress Pamela Anderson as the next spokeswoman for the company's AIDS fund-raiser, which donates money from sales of the company's Viva Glam Lipstick and Lipglass to the AIDS charity. Other celebrities involved in the AIDS fund-raiser include Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Linda Evangelista, and Chloe Sevigny. One hundred percent of sales of MAC's Pearl Lipglass ($13.50) and Luster Lipstick ($14) from the company's 700 locations around the world will be donated to the AIDS fund. The MAC AIDS Fund has raised more than $44 million for the global fight against AIDS. Anderson will be named campaign spokeswoman at a press conference held March 31 in New York City. Speakers at the press conference will include Anderson, MAC AIDS Fund chairman John Demsey, Marjorie Hill of Gay Men's Health Crisis' Women's Institute, Paul Kawata of the National Minority AIDS Council, and Thomas Frieden of the New York health department.
