More than 2,000 people participated in the annual AIDS walk to benefit Nashville CARES on October 8 in Nashville, walk organizers told The Tennessean. Nashville CARES officials say proceeds from the walk are expected to reach the fund-raiser's $140,000 goal. Country singer Kathy Mattea and Miss Tennessee 2005 Tara Burns participated in the fund-raiser. All money raised will benefit Nashville CARES, which provides services to more than 1,500 HIV-positive people and their families in the metro Nashville area. (Advocate.com)
