Health officials
in China's Henan province are offering free and
anonymous HIV antibody tests and health screenings to area
gay and bisexual men to help reduce the spread of
sexually transmitted diseases occurring through gay
sex, China Daily reports. The tests will be
provided through a joint research project by the
Chinese ministries of science and health and will include up
to 200 men recruited by regional advocacy groups.
Participants' identities and medical records
will remain confidential, health authorities say.
Researchers will also survey the men about their sexual
behaviors to gain more insight into the spread of HIV
in the province. (Advocate.com)
