F.W. Murnau's Sunrise makes Sight and Sound Top 10 List
Every 10 years, Britain's Sight and Sound magazine surveys film critics and directors around the world to choose the 10 best films ever made. Perennial chart-topper Citizen Kane once again ranks as number 1 on both lists. Gay director F.W. Murnau--recently portrayed by John Malkovich in Shadow of the Vampire--placed at number 7 on the critics' poll with his haunting 1927 silent film Sunrise.
