The Los
Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center will salute those
working to support and promote visibility for LGBT
people and celebrate 35 years of service in Los
Angeles. A gala and auction will be hosted by drag legend
and entertainer Coco Peru on Saturday, November 18, at the
Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel.
Actor and
activist Wilson Cruz, an openly gay actor, will be awarded
the Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award in
recognition of his long-standing support and
involvement with the center's youth services program.
Bravo, the cable
television network, will be presented with the award for
corporate vision, for its commitment to diversity and
gay-friendly programming.
The auction will
feature more than 400 items available for bidding,
including travel packages, restaurant packages, and personal
luxury items. The luxury raffle prize is a 12-day,
11-night trip for four to the world-renowned Four
