The airport
toilet where Sen. Larry Craig was arrested for allegedly
soliciting gay sex has become a popular tourist attraction,
according to airport staff members.
Travelers passing
through Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport
have taken to photographing the now-famous restroom
stall. Karen Evans, the airport's information
specialist, told the Associated Press she had been
asked for directions to the stall four times within the
first 15 minutes of her Friday shift.
Other airport
personnel have noticed the site's popularity, as well.
"People have been going inside, taking pictures of
the stall, taking pictures outside the door -- man,
it's been crazy," Royal Zino, an
employee at an airport shoeshine shop, told the AP.
After an airport
officer arrested Craig on June 11, the Idaho Republican
pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Craig
later said his guilty plea was a mistake and that he
would fight to withdraw it. His request will be heard
in court September 26. (The Advocate)
