"Shelter," an exhibition following LGBTQ youth living in a homeless shelter, is on display at Exit Art in New York City. Photographer Lucky Michaels chronicles the lives of the inhabitants of the shelter, Sylvia's Place, which is named after gay rights activist Sylvia Rivera. Michaels serves as the subjects' counselor, documenting them in moments of rest, play, and confrontation.

Exit Art is located at 475 10th Ave. at the corner of West 36th Street. Admittance is free, but a suggested donation of $5 would be welcomed. For hours of operation and more information, visit ExitArt.org or call (212) 966-7745. (The Advocate)
