The "flights" take half an hour. Get tickets from County Hall next door. Turn your BlackBerry off and sneak into the South Bank's superb BFI IMAX Cinema (1 Charlie Chaplin Walk, SE1; +44-87-0787-2525), a striking building with a giant Howard Hodgkin mural running around it.

Celebrate having met your targets at one of the famed musical or theater productions in London's West End . Options range from serious works starring the likes of Judi Dench to lighthearted romps such as La Cage aux Folles, Mamma Mia, or Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
