Manhattan's Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, profiled in the September issue of The Advocate, has been nominated in the dessert category for a Vendy Award.
The non-profit Street Vendor Project announced the nominees last week. The ice cream truck, started by Juilliard-trained bassoonist Doug Quint, started out as a summer gig and has become a New York staple.
The ice cream truck compete with Wafels & Dinges (a Belgian waffle truck) and Cupcake Stop for the prize.
