Mariah Carey Toasts Gay Marriage Proposal

Pop diva Mariah Carey congratulated a newly engaged gay couple in Las Vegas on Saturday, after she invited two men onstage and one of them proposed to the other.

Watch the video below, reported by the Los Angeles Times, in which a young man explains that, three years ago, his boyfriend Matthew told him that he could propose only if he found a way to introduce Matthew to Mariah Carey.

"So I'm hoping that my Mariah will accept his Nick Cannon," said the young man, drawing a comparison to Carey's husband.

Mariah brought champagne to the guys, led them in a toast, and then gave them a big hug before the cheering audience at the Pearl at Palms resort. "I'm glad I could be of help," she said.
