Dustin Lance Black, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Milk, will write the screenplay for the film biography of former FBI head J. Edgar Hoover for director Clint Eastwood, reports the New York Post.
The screenplay, titled simply Hoover, will focus on Hoover's career, from the founding of the FBI in 1935 to his long tenure as director of the crime-fighting organization, which ended with his death in 1972. When asked if the film will delve into Hoover's rumored closeted homosexuality and cross-dressing, Black tells the Post, "Well, look who you're talking to. I wrote the script ... what do you think?"
