After many hiccups in its release schedule, Jim Carrey's latest flick,
about a
con man who falls in love with his cell mate (played by Ewan McGregor), I Love You Phillip Morris, will hit theaters this summer.
Phillip Morris was originally slated for an April 30 release, but it's now scheduled for a limited opening July 30 and will expand to more theaters August 6. According to Variety, it has been "plagued with distribution distress since premiering at [the Sundance Film Festival] in 2009, largely because of the film's challenging subject matter."
