Mixner: Maddow, 's Eleveld Among Most Powerful Lesbians in Politics

Longtime activist David Mixner has released his list of the twenty most powerful lesbians in American politics, naming MSNBC commentator Rachel Maddow (pictured at right) to the top spot and including congresswoman Tammy Baldwin, Houston mayor Annise Parker and The Advocate's Washington correspondent, Kerry Eleveld (pictured at left).

Of Maddow, Mixner writes, "Who can argue with this influential and powerful commentator being number one? With her MSNBC perch, she reaches millions and doesn't shy away from being a Lesbian and covering LGBT stories. Her own journey is an amazing story and gives new definition to LGBT power. "
