Tony- and Oscar-winner Joel Grey is slated to direct a staged reading of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart May 17 to benefit the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center.
The reading will take place at the Geffen Playhouse and will feature Lisa Kudrow, Dylan Walsh, Tate Donovan, Clark Gregg, Jon Tenney, David Eigenberg, Dan Bucatinsky, Tim Bagley, and Alec Mapa.
The Normal Heart, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, gives insight into the early years of the AIDS epidemic. The original production premiered at New York's Public Theater in April 1985, and Grey starred in the production later that year.
The reading will benefit the center's Jeffrey Goodman Special Care Clinic, which provides free and low-cost treatment for HIV/AIDS patients. For more information visit the Los Angeles
Gay and Lesbian Center here.
