Brooklyn Man Charged in Antigay Incident
A Brooklyn, N.Y., man has been charged with a hate crime in connection to an antigay menacing incident against two other men Saturday morning.
According to NY 1, "Police say Luis Newman, 43, threatened two men with a knife and made anti-gay comments as they were walking down Utica Avenue between Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue in Weeksville."
Police arrested Newman after the victims notified them.
The victims were able to flag down police, who then arrested Newman. He is charged with menacing as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon.
