Maj. Mike Almy, a witness in the federal trial challenging "don't ask, don't tell" who was thrown out of the Air Force in 2006 after his private e-mails were searched, discussed the landmark DADT ruling during a Friday appearance on The Rachel Maddow Show.
In her opinion, Judge Virginia Phillips called Almy a "candid, credible, and forthright witness. 
"Almy's modest demeanor as a witness and matter-of-fact recitation of his service did not disguise his impressive record in the Air Force,"she wrote.

Great Britain now limits transgender people’s bathroom use

        A new statutory code of practice is now in effect across England, Scotland and Wales that says bathrooms, changing rooms and hospital wards designated for women or for men must exclude transgender men and women. Effective Wednesday, the code issued by the U.K.'s Equality and Human Rights Commission says use of those facilities must be based on a person’s birth sex, and not the gender with which they identify.
