Officials at a zoo in Germany are planning to separate two male vultures who have spent the last several months making a nest together so they can mate one with a female.
Gay groups are protesting a decision by the Allwetterzoo in Munster to take one of the males and mate him with a female vulture at a Czech zoo.
Allwetterzoo curtator Dirk Wewers says the zoo is in need of baby vultures.
"They weren't happy as a gay couple anyway -- the other vultures picked on them and stole their nest materials," Wewers said.
