PBS is considering re-airing part of its landmark An American Family series, possibly the first reality show ever broadcast.

An American Family, which aired for 12 hours in 1973, featured the Loud family of Santa Barbara, Calif. Much of the show focused on conflict between the parents, Bill and Pat, and the couple's gay son, Lance.

The public television network is considering showing some of the documentary again or streaming the entire series onlineto coincide with HBO's Cinema Verite, an upcoming dramatization of the documentary's filming and its repercussions.
