Volunteers and cat lovers will celebrate the union of two cats living in a New York City pet adoption center Thursday.
Bruno and Solomon are long-term residents of Ollie's Place who originally met at Coney Island. They now live in the same cat "apartment" at the shelter. Kat Herskovits, a volunteer, said they have been inseparable since they were brought in.
"Bruno, a shy and timid gray and white tabby, bonded with Solomon, a ginger and white alpha male who has acted as Bruno's protector and confident," Herskovits wrote on BestFriends.org. "Solomon would have been adopted years ago as his outgoing and affectionate ways charm everyone he meets. But Solomon and Bruno's mutual caring and affection has made it difficult, if not impossible, for them to be separated."
